Detailed Itinerary: Your Photographic Journey

Day 1: Arrival and Acclimation
Location: Arusha

Your photographic expedition begins as you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport. You'll be warmly greeted and transferred to the elegant Arusha Serena Hotel, an oasis of calm set amidst coffee plantations. This evening, meet your expert photographic guide and fellow participants for a welcome briefing. Discuss gear, aspirations, and the incredible days ahead over a delicious dinner.

Day 2: Giants and Light
Location: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Accommodation: Tarangire Acacia Luxury Tented Camp

After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park . Known as the "Elephant Paradise," Tarangire offers a spectacular backdrop of ancient baobab trees and the Tarangire River. Today is an introduction to the safari rhythm: learning to anticipate animal behavior and working with the harsh midday light. Your guide will focus on techniques for capturing the grandeur of elephant herds and the stark, beautiful landscapes.
Focus: Landscape integration, capturing large herds, and working with dramatic silhouettes against baobabs.

Day 3: Into the Endless Plains
Location: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Accommodation: Pori Pori Tented Camp

We journey towards the world-renowned Serengeti National Park . The name itself means "endless plains," and as you enter its vast expanse, you'll understand why. The drive is a game-viewing adventure in itself. After lunch, we embark on our first game drive in this legendary ecosystem, chasing the golden afternoon light that makes the Serengeti a photographer's dream.
Focus: Panoramic shots, capturing the scale of the plains, and the magic of the "golden hour."

Day 4 & 5: The Serengeti Symphony
Location: Serengeti National Park
Accommodation: Pori Pori Tented Camp

Two full days dedicated to the heart of the Serengeti. We are on the move from dawn until dusk, with packed lunches, to maximize the best light. Your guide will seek out prime photographic opportunities: cheetahs on a termite mound, lions on a kopje, and the breathtaking drama of the Great Migration (season dependent). Learn the art of the predator stalk, the patience for a behavioral shot, and the technique for sharp, action-filled images.
Focus: Action photography, predator behavior, macro details (ears, eyes, manes), and mastering the art of the patient wait.

Day 6: To the Calving Grounds
Location: Serengeti to Ndutu Area
Accommodation: Lake Masek Tented Lodge

We leave the central Serengeti and head south to the Ndutu Area , located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This region is critical for the Great Migration, particularly from December to March when the wildebeest calve. The open, acidic soils of Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek create a unique, beautiful landscape. The abundance of prey attracts a high density of predators, offering unparalleled photographic opportunities.
Focus: Transitioning to a new ecosystem, intimate landscapes, and predator-prey interactions.

Day 7 & 8: The Ndutu Drama
Location: Ndutu Area
Accommodation: Lake Masek Tented Lodge

These two days are dedicated to exploring the Ndutu plains. A key advantage here is the ability to go off-road, allowing us to get into the heart of the action. We will focus on capturing the tender moments of newborn wildebeest, the intense hunts by lion and cheetah, and the stunning reflections in the alkaline lakes. We may also do a full-day drive with a picnic lunch to a specific, active area, giving us the flexibility to follow the drama as it unfolds.
Focus: Off-road photography, capturing high-drama scenes, intimate portraits of newborns, and reflective landscape shots.

Day 9: On the Rim of the World
Location: Ndutu to Ngorongoro Highlands
Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

After one final morning game drive in Ndutu, we ascend the crater highlands to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater . We check into the spectacular Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, carved into the rim, offering breathtaking views into the caldera below. This afternoon is for reviewing your work, editing sessions, and a celebratory dinner overlooking one of the world's most famous natural wonders.
Focus: Image review, editing techniques, and celebrating the journey's successes.

Day 10: The Finale - Ngorongoro Crater & Departure
Location: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

We descend 2,000 feet into the Ngorongoro Crater for a final, spectacular game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a natural amphitheater, teeming with nearly 30,000 animals, including the rare black rhino. It's your last chance to capture the "Big Five" and the stunning concentration of wildlife against the crater walls. After an unforgettable morning, we enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool before beginning our ascent and the journey back to Arusha for your evening departure.
