After an early breakfast, you'll depart Arusha and drive towards the Tarangire National Park . The landscape transforms into classic savannah dotted with ancient baobab trees. Tarangire is famous for having one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Africa. You'll witness large herds grazing against a stunning backdrop. The Tarangire River is the lifeblood of the park, attracting vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, and various predators like lions and leopards. Birdwatchers will be delighted by the over 550 species recorded. After a full day of game drives, you'll exit the park and ascend into the cooler highlands to Karatu, where you'll check into the beautiful Marera Valley Lodge, often with stunning views over a coffee plantation.

  • Meals: Full Board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

  • Wildlife Highlights: Massive elephant herds, baobab trees, lions, tree-climbing pythons, and diverse birdlife.

Day 3: Karatu to Central Serengeti

  • Accommodation: Kisura Tented Camp or Similar

Today, you embark on the journey to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park . The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a stop at the crater's viewpoint for a breathtaking first look. You'll then descend into the Serengeti plains. The "Central Serengeti" (Seronera Valley) is the heart of the ecosystem, known for its year-round exceptional game viewing. As you enter the park, your game drive begins immediately. The rocky outcrops (kopjes) are famous for hosting lions and leopards. You are likely to see cheetahs on the plains, vast herds of buffalo, and countless antelope. You'll arrive at Kisura Tented Camp in the afternoon, offering an authentic "under canvas" experience in the wild.

  • Meals: Full Board

  • Wildlife Highlights: The "Big Cat" capital - lions, leopards, cheetahs. Also hippos, crocodiles, and vast plains game.

Day 4: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti (Mara Region)

  • Accommodation: Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp or Similar

After breakfast, you begin your journey northwards. This is a scenic game drive in itself, as the landscape changes from open plains to the more hilly and wooded region of the Northern Serengeti, known as the Mara Region . This area is the stage for the most dramatic wildlife spectacle on earth: the Great Migration river crossings. Depending on the season (July-October), you might already see massive herds of wildebeest and zebra gathering on the banks of the Mara River. You'll check into Mara Kati Kati, a mobile-style tented camp that moves to be in the heart of the action during the migration season.

  • Meals: Full Board

  • Wildlife Highlights: The Great Migration herds, crocodiles, hippos, and resident wildlife like topi and kongoni.

Day 5: Full Day Game Drive at the Mara River

  • Accommodation: Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp or Similar

This is a dedicated day to witness one of nature's greatest events. With a packed lunch, you will spend the entire day exploring the Mara River area. Your guide will position you at strategic crossing points where thousands of wildebeest and zebra attempt the perilous river crossing, braving swift currents and lurking crocodiles. The atmosphere is charged with tension and raw drama. Patience is key, as the herds can take time to build the courage to cross. Even if a crossing doesn't occur, the sheer scale of the gathering animals is a breathtaking sight.

  • Meals: Full Board (Packed Lunch)

  • Wildlife Highlights: The ultimate spectacle of the Wildebeest River Crossing, giant Nile crocodiles, predator action.

Day 6: Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti

  • Accommodation: Kontiki Tented Camp or Similar

You have one final morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti, perhaps for a last look at the migration herds or to search for any wildlife you may have missed. After breakfast, you begin your journey back south to the Central Serengeti. The drive is another opportunity for game viewing, and the change in perspective often reveals new animals. You'll arrive at Kontiki Tented Camp in the Seronera area, offering another chance to experience the magic of the Serengeti night sounds from the comfort of your tent.

  • Meals: Full Board

  • Wildlife Highlights: A second chance to see the diverse wildlife of the Central Serengeti, perhaps a different leopard or lion pride.

Day 7: Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands

  • Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Central Serengeti, when predators are most active. Afterwards, you'll begin your journey back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will exit the Serengeti and climb the steep crater rim, arriving at the spectacular Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge. Perched right on the edge of the crater, the lodge offers unparalleled views into the caldera below. The afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy the lodge's unique architecture, relax, and soak in the magnificent vista.

  • Meals: Full Board

  • Focus: Scenic transition, breathtaking views, and preparation for the final game drive.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Arusha Departure

  • Accommodation: None

This is the grand finale. After an very early breakfast, you will descend the 600-meter walls of the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive on the crater floor. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a natural amphitheater, teeming with an estimated 25,000 large animals. It's one of the best places in Africa to see the endangered black rhinoceros. The crater also supports a high density of lions, giant tusked elephants, flamingos on the soda lake, and large herds of zebra and wildebeest. Because it's a condensed ecosystem, wildlife viewing is consistently outstanding. After an unforgettable morning, you will ascend the crater and begin your journey back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at your preferred location in Arusha or directly at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your evening departure flight.

  • Meals: Breakfast & Lunch (Packed or at a picnic site in the crater)

  • Wildlife Highlights: The Big Five (with high chance of black rhino), hyenas, hippo pool, and dense concentrations of wildlife.
